Maison Valentino Des Ateliers in Venice - Between Art & Fashion

The concept of fashion show has had a real evolution over time.

From the scene with gilded chairs, aristocrats, perhaps the strange reviewer with a notebook.

Once upon a time, the fashion show was a quiet affair, held behind closed doors and attended by a select few. Subsequently, the fashion shows became real events with illustrious guests, style icons in the front row, so much so that they captured the attention more then the creations of the designers.

We can safely say that with Des Ateliers, Maison Valentino and Pierpaolo Piccoli have elevated the fashion event to pure art (in the art).

Art and fashion involved in a path of thought. Which goes beyond contamination because it allows us to establish a dialogue in the equality of values. From here Pierpaolo Piccioli builds the collection entitled Valentino Des Ateliers. Valentino chooses Venice, not Paris, not Rome, not Milan, to present the Haute Couture fall winter 2021/2022 fashion show.

First event with the Maison's audience - in February the prêt-à-porter collection had paraded inside the Piccolo Teatro in Milan, to give a signal of the need for support for art venues - the show was held in the setting of Le Gaggiandre, aquatic canopies built in 1500 for the shelter of boats.

With a small court of guests dressed in white, colors and shapes explode on the catwalk.

Valentino's Haute Couture Fall Winter 2021/2022 show in Venice is a way to talk about a restart after all the closures during the pandemic. And of the value of the event itself, replaced for months by digital alternatives that have given way to range with new methods and ideas, but returning to the live show is a very important sign.

The collaboration with artists is the heart of the Des Ateliers.

Spectacular isn't everything for a Haute Couture show, or at least not anymore. For Pierpaolo Piccioli and Valentino it becomes the occasion to give a voice to the artists.

The protagonist, in fact, is a selection of painters who for weeks worked side by side with the seamstresses of the Valentino atelier in creating the looks.
